Ryan Reynolds Says He and Blake Lively Are Grateful All 4 Kids Are ‘Under Our Roof Now’: ‘A Fleeting Thing’
Ryan Reynolds is enjoying the whirlwind of family life with wife Blake Lively and their four children. In a candid interview on Amanda Hirsch’s podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, set to air on July 30, Reynolds shared his perspective on parenting and the chaos it brings.
With daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, along with 1-year-old son Olin, Reynolds acknowledged the challenges of managing a busy household. “Embrace the chaos,” the 47-year-old actor advised. “We have four kids—nothing’s going to be tidy ever again. But it will be, eventually, when they all leave the house.”
Reynolds highlighted how fleeting these moments are, as Lively often reminds him.
“They’re all under our roof right now. The whole family’s under our roof. We have them all. And that is a fleeting thing,” he said. Despite the struggles, Reynolds emphasized that parenting is a phase to cherish, even when it feels overwhelming. “It does get to you,” he admitted. “And it’s okay to be like, ‘F—, I am dying.’ Because that’s gonna happen every other day.”
One of the challenges he faces is that many of his children need to sleep in their bed. “I would love to spread out and fall asleep normally again,” Reynolds said, but he chooses to focus on the positive side of these chaotic moments.
