Alison Hammond slams body
Great British Bake Off star and This Morning presenter Alison Hammond says she doesn’t care what people say about her and has hit back at critics who have been “sizeist”
Alison Hammond has clapped back at “sizeist” detractors after she disclosed that her home is adorned with nude photos of herself.
Glowing with self-approval, the Great British Bake Off celeb declared her contentment with her “big chubby” body. The 49-year-old entertainer is unfazed by public opinion.
The Brummie broadcaster left fellow This Morning presenter Dermot O’Leary blushing in July after she revealed her decorative choices, stating: “I’ve got naked pictures everywhere all over my house.” Asserting her brash viewpoint, she further pronounced there’s “nothing wrong with it”.
Known for her viral moments whether it’s a blooper like getting snagged on a door handle or accidently nudging a colleague into Liverpool’s Albert Dock. Alison’s antics often put her in the spotlight but also subject her to scrutiny online.

Gracing the pages of The Observer Magazine, when probed if the antagonism is “racist or sexist” Alison shot back: “Or sizeist. Ultimately I don’t care what people think. That sounds like it doesn’t bother me. It does.”
She continued firmly, reinforcing her self-esteem by saying: “But I think I’m good enough and it’s me I want to impress. Most people who criticise others don’t love themselves.” With unmistakable confidence, she voiced her joy: “I mean, I’m happy plodding along in my beautiful black skin in my big chubby body.”
Alison, who first stole the limelight back in 2002 on Big Brother, endeared herself to the nation and was quickly scooped up by This Morning as their celebrity interviewer. In her star-studded chats, she famously greeted Denzel Washington with: “Badass, vigilante, big, black, beautiful scary, but that’s enough about me babes.”
The Hollywood icon was taken aback by her candid approach. Alison’s career skyrocketed as she became the new face of the immensely popular Great British Bake Off last year, following Matt Lucas’s departure.
Alison’s personal transformation has been nothing short of extraordinary, with an astonishing 11 stone weight loss. She’s openly shared the humiliating flight ordeal that kick-started her slimming journey. On This Morning, she confessed she used to purchase an extra seat to avoid crowding fellow passengers.
Alison related the tale: “I was nearly 28 stone I’ll be honest with you and that is morbidly obese. And I used to buy an extra seat because I didn’t want to put anyone in a situation where I was touching them.”
She detailed a particular event: “I was made to feel uncomfortable on one occasion when I was so close to someone’s seat and they asked to move but they ended up moving me into first class.”
“It was embarrassing the whole thing and from that moment I just started buying two seats. I don’t do it anymore because I’ve lost a bit of timber but not everyone can afford to do that.”
