Fans are perplexed by Patrick Mahomes’ new Adidas contract’s high price

The quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs determined that his Texas Tech jerseys were worth more than his NFL ones.

After he decided to work with Adidas to sell Texas Tech college football jerseys for more money than his Kansas City Chiefs shirts, quarterback quarterback Aaron Mahomes left fans perplexed.

Before coach Andy Reid selected the 29-year-old to the NFL, he honed his craft at the institution in the Lone Star State. It appears that college football holds a greater place in his heart than the game that won him three Super Bowls.

The reason for this is that Mahomes chose to list his Texas Tech Red Raiders jerseys with the Galvanized branding for $140, when the Chiefs’ Nike-supplied jerseys are available for more than ten dollars less at $129.99.

The newest addition to Mahomes’ fashion line is made of a sturdy double-knit polyester top, is intended to fit loosely for added comfort, and uses recycled materials in an effort to be more eco-friendly.

The line also includes travel jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, and gymwear pants, enabling the devoted Red Raiders supporters to personalize their outfits in a variety of ways to show their team spirit.

Galvanized is another company that produces a line of shoes called the Mahomes 2 Impact FLX shoes, which are designed to help athletes. This isn’t the first time Mahomes has partnered with the German clothing and fashion behemoth.

With sustainability and performance as its primary design goals, the sneaker comes in two colorways at varying pricing points. Black pairs retail for $90, while red pairs cost $150. The younger sizes range in price from $66 to $110, so these shoes aren’t just for grownups.

Will Patrick Mahomes play in Week 6?

The fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 and have defeated the Baltimore Ravens adds even more concern for their competitors, as they haven’t shown much promise through the first five games of the 2024–25 NFL season.

However, because the club has a bye week, fans won’t get to see Mahomes and the Chiefs play in Week 6. On November 20, they will play the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of Super Bowl LVIII.
