Reason why Tommy Fury dropped out of I’m a Celeb as his replacement is confirmed
The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! line-up for this year has been announced, but you’ll notice that Tommy Fury isn’t on it.
That’s because he reportedly cancelled his appearance, which saves him from chowing down on all sorts of Australian creepy crawlies.
Fury, who has been seeing a hailstorm of drama heading his way since he and ex-fiancée Molly Mae Hague called it quits, apparently decided he didn’t want to participate in the end, leaving the show in need of a replacement.
The fighter would have joined other celebrities we know and love in the jungle for weeks as they battle for edible food, by eating… not so edible things.
ITV confirmed the Ant and Dec hosted show will be hitting our screens on 17 November with plenty of speculation kicking off who will join, and since Fury is a no-go that leaves one person having to join in last-minute.
But why has he called it quits?
Maybe he didn’t want to be holed up with Coleen Rooney, TikTok’s GK Barry, Tulisa, Dancing on Ice’s Oti Mabuse, Corrie’s Alan Halsall, Radio 1’s Dean McCullough, Loose Women’s Jane Moore, radio’s Melvin Odoom, Love Island’s Maura Higgins, boxing promoter Barry McGuigan and BBC’s Rev Richard Coles.
Nah, it wasn’t that.
Apparently, he was offered something better than what the show could provide him with.
According to reports, Tyson Fury’s half-brother has received the option to head into the boxing ring to fight KSI once again, and he said yes.
A TV source told The Sun: “Bosses are surprised Tommy has pulled out of I’m A Celebrity at this late stage as it would have been a great opportunity for him.”
They added: “Thankfully, execs already had some great names waiting in the wings so they’ll be looking at which ones fit best into the line-up already booked so they can deliver a truly great series.”
So, who will be replacing him?
McFly’s Danny Jones will be replacing his slot on I’m A Celeb, and McFly fangirls can unite, and pray that he busts out the hits around the camp fire.
To be honest, it wasn’t looking like the plan for Fury to go on the show was air tight anyways as when he was questioned about going in the jungle by Heart Breakfast last week, he responded: “Listen a lot of things in my life is like a rollercoaster in a minute. There are so many things I might do.
“You know, could he be doing this? Could he be doing that? To be honest with you, I don’t know what I’m doing this afternoon. I mean, I just take literally an hour at a time, so I don’t know.
“There’s a lot of things going on in my life right now. So, I’m not sure on anything.”
Amanda Holden, the host of the radio show shared that maybe the diet wouldn’t be particularly beneficial for someone who requires to maintain a strict regime for when he fights.
So perhaps it was for the best.
LADbible has contacted Tommy Fury’s representative for a comment.

Fury has decided against appearing on the show just two weeks before he was due to fly out, according to The Sun
Tommy Fury has reportedly pulled out of an appearance on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in favour of another lucrative deal.
Following a shock split from fiancee Molly-Mae Hague earlier this year, the 25-year-old had been heavily rumoured to be in talks to head down under with ITV reality show for their upcoming series.
Given his relation to boxing legend Tyson Fury and recent high profile split, Fury would’ve given viewers plenty of reason to tune in.
However, the nation’s dreams of seeing theLove Islandalum covered in bugs and chowing down on various insects is no more, as the boxer has pulled out at the last minute.
According to a report published in The Sun, Fury has decided against appearing on the show just two weeks before he was due to fly out to Australia, after receiving a more lucrative offer. The report added that this offer will see him step back into the ring for a rematch against KSI, who he previously triumphed over in a match last October.
Which, to be fair, is probably less daunting than spending weeks in the Australian jungle surrounded by Australia’s infamous wildlife and being voted to take on various Bushtucker trials by the British public.
The update comes just days after Fury was grilled over a possible jungle appearance during a recent radio interview on Heart, in which he told host Amanda Holden: “Listen, a lot of things in my life is like a rollercoaster in a minute. There are so many things I might do. You know, could he be doing this? Could he be doing that? To be honest with you, I don’t know what I’m doing this afternoon.
“I mean, I just take literally an hour at a time, so I don’t know. There’s a lot of things going on in my life right now. So, I’m not sure on anything.”
As for who will be appearing on the show, ITV bosses are yet to confirm the line-up, however, various names have been heavily linked over the past couple of months. These include Colleen Rooney, aka ‘Wagatha Christie’, former Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice and influencer GK Barry.
However, it’s important to note that all these names are still heavily speculated, as a spokesperson for ITV recently told LADbible: “Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! are just speculation.”
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! full line-up was revealed today (1 November)
The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! full line-up for 2024 has finally been revealed, and among those heading Down Under to take part is WAG and showbiz ‘detective’ Coleen Rooney.
Coleen, 38 – who is joining several other famous faces – is even said to be getting paid more than the controversial participant Nigel Farage did last year.
Now, if you’ve ever watched the show before, you’ll know that celebs have to face a number of gruelling challenges – and we’re not talking about the Bushtucker Trials.
Not only do they often have to either jump out of a helicopter or balance at the top of a skyscraper before they even make it into camp, they’re then faced with sleeping outside on a hammock, rationed food, no contact with home and of course, as many creepy crawlies as possible.
Speaking of bugs, regular viewers of the show might have noticed that the celebrities all wear red socks while they are in camp.
And there’s actually a reason for this.
Bob McCarron worked on the show for years before hanging up his stethoscope and he told Woman’s Own a few years ago that the socks are actually to cover up blood splatters from the many and varied blood sucking critters that live in the jungle.
Basically, one of the pitfalls of being in the jungle is that you will get bitten, you will pick up cuts and bruises, and they simply don’t want the celebs to look too much like they’ve been through the wars.
Brutal.
Also expected to appear in the jungle this year is McFly star Danny Jones, dancer and presenter Oti Mabuse, Corrie star Alan Halsall – who plays Tyrone Dobbs – and TikToker GK Barry.
Radio 1 host Dean McCullough will also be heading Down Under, as well as singer Tulisa.
Heading into the jungle will mark a TV comeback for the N-Dubz star as she returns following a long health battle.
Apparently, Tulisa has been approached for the show for a while but ‘she’s never wanted to consider it’. But now, a decade since she left The X Factor and off the back of her group’s tour, it seems like the right time.
Other participants include Loose Women star Jane Moore, Rev Richard Coles, radio presenter Melvin Odoom, boxing promoter Barry McGuigan and Love Island star Maura Higgins.

The line-up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! was revealed on Friday
Coleen Rooney is expected to receive the ‘highest fee ever’ for taking part in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
Coleen, 38, has been announced as one of 12 celebrities heading into the jungle this year, with other contestants including N-Dubz singer Tulisa, Love Island star Maura Higgins and boxing promoter Barry McGuigan.
The show will begin on Sunday 17 November and usually runs for three weeks.
Mum-of-four Coleen is apparently a huge fan of the show, and while she’s reportedly been asked before, it seems this year is finally her time to take part.
Interestingly enough, her courtroom rival Rebekah Vardy was actually on the 2017 version of the show, where she was the third campmate to be eliminated from the jungle.
It’s fair to say Coleen is one of the biggest names in this year’s line-up, and according to The Sun on Sunday, she’s actually the show’s biggest ever signing, bagging a deal that surpasses the £1.5 million fee that Nigel Farage secured last year.
LADbible has reached out to ITV for comment.
Although known for her Wagatha Christie fame, Coleen is mum to Kai, 14, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six, meanwhile husband Wayne is currently based in Devon as manager of Plymouth Argyle.
Ever since she was confirmed to be taking part, viewers have wondered whether Coleen might open up on the infamous case with fellow WAG, Rebekah.
The footballers’ wives were embroiled in a High Court libel case following Coleen’s viral social media post in October 2019, for which she said she carried out a ‘sting operation’ and accused Rebekah of leaking ‘false stories’ about her private life to the press.
In the end, Vardy lost the libel case she brought against Coleen and was ordered to pay up to £1.5m in legal fees.
A documentary on Disney+ followed, titled Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story.
Other participants include Loose Women star Jane Moore, Rev Richard Coles, radio presenter Melvin Odoom, boxing promoter Barry McGuigan and Love Island star Maura Higgins.

Two of this year’s I’m A Celeb castmates were once very closely connected
One of this year’s I’m A Celeb stars is set for an awkward reunion as the campmates have been revealed.
Yep, in case you missed it the line-up of celebrities heading Down Under was shared yesterday (1 November) with the show set to return later this month.
While there have been plenty of rumours in recent weeks about the stars joining, and ITV previously told LADbible that ‘any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!are just speculation’, it seems the mix might cause some drama.
And if there is any, I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it thanks to Coleen Rooney’s presence – the ultimate detective, of course.
While there are two BBC Radio 1 hosts heading in along with a Corrie star and TikToker, there’s also Love Islander Maura Higgins.
The 33-year-old appeared on the dating show back in 2019 when she made it to the final. Since then, she’s taken part in Dancing on Ice, hosted the Irish version of Glow Up and is the host of Love Island USA: Aftersun.
And before she made her name in TV, Higgins worked as a ring girl for several professional boxers including the likes of Anthony Joshua.
During that time, she got together with boxing coach Shane McGuigan when he was commentating on a match in 2018.
Things didn’t quite work out between the pair though, reportedly due to the distance with Higgins living in Ireland and travelling for work while McGuigan was based in London.
While he might not be heading into the jungle to go on I’m a Celeb, his dad, Barry McGuigan is.
Yeah, sounds awkward right?
Although, it doesn’t seem like it was too much of a deep relationship between the pair as, according to The Sun, a source at the time said: “They went on a few dates and had fun, but Maura lives in Ireland.
“Shane is running his successful boxing gym in London, and then she was travelling for work, so it wasn’t easy to pull off.”
There apparently weren’t any ‘hard feelings’ when it ended and it was pretty ‘short-lived’ – so who knows if Higgins ever met the boxing promoter dad.
McGuigan was apparently a bit of a late casting for ITV as he reportedly replaced fellow star of the boxing world Ally McCoist.
