Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce double

A-list celebrities like Cardi B and Mark Wahlberg have already made a new Mediterranean restaurant in New York City’s hip Meatpacking District their favorite.

Page Six was granted exclusive access to Mēdüzā Mediterrania’s exclusive upstairs dining area, where Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce recently had dinner with their close friends Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.

Sacha Tanha, director of hospitality for restaurant company Noble 33, told us about the pop diva and her boyfriend’s double date with the quarterback and his wife on September 8 and said, “They had a lovely little dinner up here.”

Noble 33’s in-house design team, Monochrome, created the intimate VIP area. It has a lengthy arrangement of tables with beautiful dried-floral arrangements on top that can be rearranged to accommodate small or large groups.

While shelves piled with plants and ceramics produce a calm energy that goes well with the earthy ceramic dinnerware, floral vines dangle from the ceiling and ascend the clouds-colored walls.

A floor-to-ceiling arching mirror that opens up the space and a giant flat-screen TV that’s ideal for private viewing parties give the space a modern twist.

With a weekly DJ and live musicians playing evocative “deep house with European and tropical elements,” Tanha said, “the whole property is great for date nights, girls’ nights, and 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡days.” “If I had to describe the energy when you walk in, it’s energetic and 𝓈ℯ𝓍y,” she said.

Hosting Swift, Kelce, and the Mahomeses in the private area was Tahna’s “favorite Mēdüzā memory,” he revealed, and they had “a great time, laughing [and] chit-chatting.”

Regarding the group’s visit, he continued, “And it’s always great to get good feedback on the food and drinks.”

Tanha revealed that while dining on the comfortable top level, the Kansas City Chiefs teammates and their partners were very considerate of restaurant employees.

“I adore those four,” Tanha remarked. Without going into too much detail, it’s a common saying in my line of work that you can tell a person’s actual nature by the way they treat patrons in restaurants.

He went on, “If I had to say anything about those four, it’s that they’re so kind, genuine, and polite even when the cameras aren’t rolling.” “I wish more people saw and understood that.”

As previously reported by Page Six, the foursome’s meal consisted of hamachi, cacio e pepe, and lamb chops.

As soon as Swift walked into the main dining area of the Mykonos-inspired restaurant, which is decorated with basket chandeliers, handcrafted pottery, and an abundance of greenery, Tanha remarked the atmosphere was “bananas.”

He said, “People were stuck to the staircase [to the private room] waiting for someone to come down.”

Thankfully, the Mēdüzā crew is s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed at providing celebrities with a secure environment free from prying eyes.

This required smuggling the football player and Grammy winner into the venue via a covert rear entrance that led to the exclusive eating area.

Tanha laughed, “We made sure they get the swift entrance, no pun intended,” adding that personnel frequently provide additional protection to protect well-known celebrities from unwelcome guests.

It’s giving them that privacy and security. We’re going to add an extra layer of protection to ensure that nobody goes up there, and we’re not calling individuals or taking pictures of them,” he continued.

Whether it’s keeping the kitchen open beyond closing or accommodating a specific table request, the institution will usually always comply with unusual demands.

“We create a very comfortable environment for people, and I’ve learned that public figures and celebrities do have to be a little more selective with where they go,” the restaurateur added.

“We always do everything we can to make them feel at ease in the restaurant.”

Tanha acknowledged that she had once emptied the restroom to allow a celebrity visitor who wished to remain anonymous to use it privately. When the private dining room was reserved, he also offered to close half the restaurant for another famous person.

He declared, “No one will bother them when they come to this restaurant, and we treat them just like any other guest — with just another layer of comfort.”

Naturally, the main draw of the well-liked haunt is the diverse menu items prepared by head chef and culinary innovator James Atkinson.

The celebs’ favorites include entrées like lamb chops with chimichurri sauce, traditional French-style dover sole, and black truffle cacio e pepe pasta, as well as raw bar selections like hamachi with lemon and capers, wagyu carpaccio, and bluefin tuna and caviar.

While seated in the main dining area, Cardi reportedly chose the chicken meatball skewer. She even gave the dish a “10 out of 10” rating while sharing a picture of her meal on her Instagram Story.

Tanha suggested that “the olive oil cake is an automatic on every single table if we’re talking dessert.”

Though many of the specialty cocktails are highly favored by the glitterati, guests frequently drink glasses of white wine due to the fish-forward cuisine.

Tanha included their Garden of Eden make-your-own spritz and their fiery Mēdüzā Margarita, saying, “We have such a fun and interactive cocktail menu that’s so approachable and has something for everyone.”

Tanha remarked, “My personal favorite is the See You in Santorini,” a cocktail made with tequila, passionfruit, fresh coconut-infused Aperol, and lime.

“It’s really tropical and refreshing; you can have ten of those and then you won’t be able to see,” he laughed.

G-Eazy, Glenn Powell, Meek Mill, Ice Spice, Issa Rae, Flo Rida, and numerous other celebrities have visited the mezze haven since it opened last year. In September 2023, Kelce, a frequent patron, went out for a lads’ night at the Greek restaurant.

Tosh Berman and Tanha’s brother Mikey Tanha co-founded Noble 33, which is collaborating closely with Kelce and Patrick to launch their new restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri, called 1587 Prime, after their respective Chiefs jersey numbers.

“This is an excellent illustration of how friendship can develop into business,” Sacha remarked. “This opportunity presented itself, and Patrick and Travis were so amazing that they trusted us to be their partner and help them create this next chapter.”

The upscale, contemporary American steakhouse is scheduled to open in the spring of 2025 and will be housed inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel.
